Before the Nice Côte d’Azur by UTMB even started, Courtney Dauwalter’s day was already full, as she graciously stopped for photos with fans before lining up for the 100-mile race. Once the gun went off, she quickly joined the lead men, navigating the tough, windswept mountains. Clad in her iconic baggy shorts and bright T-shirt, she embraced the harsh alpine weather in the higher elevations without hesitation.
By sunrise, Dauwalter had covered 85 miles, climbing into second place (overall), and broke the women’s course record by nearly six hours. Her effortless efficiency and relentless drive stood out, even as she faced grueling conditions, reminding everyone why she remains one of the most dominant figures in ultra-running.
Her victory sets the stage for an even more exciting 2025 showdown, possibly against her rival, Katie Schide, who broke Dauwalter’s UTMB course record earlier this year.
