Five world records in one ride, seventeen now to his name. Ryan breaks down the pacing, the partnership, the cause, and exactly what he ate to fuel 200 miles on the velodrome.
We did it—we broke five world records. How cool is that?!
This one was especially unique because I had a teammate alongside me for the effort to help push us past the 200-mile barrier. We headed to the San Diego Velodrome and set out to chase the 100 km, 100 mile, 200 km, 6-hour, and 200-mile world records—and we took all five in a single ride.
This effort came with its own challenges. The pacing alone was demanding, but the team dynamic added another layer of complexity. On top of that, I was riding my time trial bike rather than a track bike, which introduced an entirely different level of optimization and strategy on the outdoor velodrome.
What made the ride even more meaningful is that it was tied to a cause that’s very close to me. We partnered with the same charity that supported my first two record attempts in 2024 and raised a tremendous amount of money to help get kids on bikes and into after-school programs in San Diego. Seeing that impact made the day even more rewarding and memorable.
Of course, you’re going to get the fueling breakdown—because today was a big one.
Fueling World Records
For such a long effort, nutrition had to be dialed in, especially with the on-and-off pacing. I leaned heavily on Maurten 160 gels, along with Santa Madre Reset gels. You can absolutely put my name down for a review on those. They’re not a magic bullet, and they won’t hand you a world record, but they taste great, offer something a little different (and not overly sweet), and they seemed to help my legs feel better. Placebo or not—I like them, and I’ll keep using them.
On top of that, Precision Fuel & Hydration salts all the way. At this point they basically run through my veins.
Post-ride, it was time for The Feed recovery stack—creatine, Ketone-IQ, and Foundation. A little extra creatine never hurt.
Now I’m hopping on a redeye back home, which may not be the most joyful part of the day—but I’m pretty sure I’ll be asleep shortly after taking a Dream Shot. That has officially become a staple, and I’m ruined. I’m going to need it on a monthly order.
In all seriousness, thank you for everything. These past three years have been incredible, and so much of it is because I’m fueled by The Feed.
There’s a lot more coming this year, and I can’t wait to keep sharing the stories and the journey with you.
17 world records and counting—all fueled by The Feed. Anything is possible.
Ryan
