How Paralympian Grace Norman Uses Kyoku for Performance

HPT Athlete Grace Norman is a 2 x Paralympian and Paralympic Champion in Triathlon. She's welcomed the value of a high-performance nutrition plan into her routine and shares with us specifically how Kyoku has been a key piece of that.

Grace: I’m Grace Norman, a 2x Paralympian, and Paralympic Champion in Triathlon.

Over the last few years, nutrition has become more of an importance to me, and I now have a greater desire to know what I am ingesting, the process of attaining the food, and how it can affect my day-to-day life. When I first was introduced to Kyoku, the ingredients immediately caught my attention. It’s packed with 16 different superfoods and is gluten-free and vegan-friendly. Kyoku’s blend of Greens, Carbs, and Protein, Performance, and Recovery properties are unmatched.

When I look at adding in a supplement, I will do a full history intake of the ingredients, potential effects on the body, and how it is sourced. I like to streamline my nutrition and if I can replace different supplements with one (being Kyoku) then I am all for it!

I have been using Kyoku in a few different ways.

The first is as a supplement to a meal, normally with breakfast or lunch. The greens and performance benefits are great here to supplement and add veggies into my morning.

The second way I have been using Kyoku is as a post-session refuel. This has been one of my favorites because of the protein and recovery properties. The single-serve packets and portable blender make this an ideal on-the-go recovery snack. I’ve been grabbing a packet and my blender to take with me to my sessions to have immediately after to kickstart the recovery process. This gives my body the necessary nutrients to recover as I am in transit home from a session or before I can cook a meal for myself.

The versatility of Kyoku has been great for me as well. The flavor isn’t too strong on its own with water as its base, but it can be easily customized to my liking. I’ve been playing around with using almond milk, chocolate milk, and mixing in some nut butters for a more indulgent snack.

Another thing I love about the single-serve packets is it is extremely travel friendly. When I'm traveling around the world, it’s nice to have peace of mind that my recovery snack is taken care of! Easy to just throw in my suitcase!

I have really loved using Kyoku and seeing all the benefits my body is gleaning from it!
