Athletes can be just as suseptible to gut issues as anyone, if not more so. While we often hear that probiotics are the answer, it may not be that simple. Check out why Gut Defense from SwissRX should be your first move.
Every athlete that comes to me with stomach or digestion issues asks: what probiotics should I be taking?
I will go against convention here and share that I’ve yet to see a probiotic directly fix gut issues. Not that they can’t help once you are in a better state, but in my experience, they don’t solve gut problems (and may even make them worse!)
So far this year, I've recommended a different approach to at least a few hundred athletes and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. So much so, that I’m now ready to share this challenge with you:
If you have gut issues, try the approach I outline below every day for four weeks; if it doesn’t resolve your gut issues, I will refund your purchase.
My recommendation for gut issues?
The product is called Gut Defense from SwissRX. The primary focus is soothing an inflamed and irritated “leaky gut.” Think of it like a spackle that fills in any gaps between the cells in your gut.
I describe it as a Teflon lining for my gut. After just a few days, everything seems just to flow so much smoother.
How does it work?
The primary ingredient is L-Glutamine, which you can find in many places, but most people take too little. That is why the formula is 4g of L-Glutamine. This is 8x what most capsules have in them.
While I feel the L-Glutamine is the primary active ingredient, the formula is a complete protocol that includes Licorice Root Extract, Aloe Vera Leaf, Zinc, and Vitamin A.
All I can say is that it works.
What does it taste like?
This is the best part. It is a Swiss Chocolate Flavor that is shockingly delicious. My wife makes it with hot water turning it into a hot chocolate before bed, which is a soothing treat.
My daughter and I add it to our Kyoku Shakes at breakfast, adding a zip of chocolate flavor.
When do I take it?
I don’t think it matters when you take it during the day. I recommend you start with one scoop per day. Once I overcame my gut issues, I started using one scoop every 2 or 3 days but we see that most athletes keep using it daily.
Travel messes with my gut and digestion more than anything. I’m religious about taking it before and after flying; it has eliminated travel-related gut issues for me.
Will it work for me?
The source of everyone’s gut issues is different, so I definitely can’t say it will work for every problem. I’m also not a doctor. But our success rate is so high that I’ll give you back what you paid as a refund or Feed Credit if it doesn’t work for you.
If you aren’t seeing improvement after a few weeks, you may need to do a gut cleanse using Gut Health, also from SwissRX. Without going into all the details, it is a dairy-free immunoglobulin that binds to toxins and harmful bacteria in your gut.
What about my probiotic?
My recommendation is to stop taking your probiotic while you do the first four weeks of the Gut Defense. Once you are feeling good, add it back into your routine.
Probiotics are essential for athletes’ recovery, inflammation management, and nutrient absorption. However, I find they are most effective when an athlete’s gut is already in a happy place to start.
Gut issues are so frustrating and we know how they can impact your day.
Try Gut Defense and let me know if it works for you.
