How I Fixed My Knee

Years of agony to pain-free training. This is how I came back to 100% after trying countless methods of recovery from a knee surgery.

Major injuries and surgeries can be frightening. You may doubt returning to your sport and wonder if you will regain your pre-injury form. It can be a very stressful time.

I had a horrendous time recovering from a 2017 knee surgery (patellar tendon reconstruction), and I thought I would never come back to 100%.

If you have ever struggled with a soft tissue injury (like tendonitis, tendinosis and muscle tears) or post-surgery recovery, you’ve felt my pain and frustration.

My Recovery Nightmare

I tried so many different things, including stem cell therapy, PRP, red light therapy and everything in between. Many of these treatments would help for a little while.

But as soon as I pushed myself, the swelling, inflammation, and throbbing pain returned. Nighttime was the worst. I'd lie awake in pain, my knee throbbing.

With each new round of therapy, the hope would build. I'd feel better, take a chance, and train hard. But the next day, the inflammation and swelling could return with a vengeance. Sometimes, I’d swear it was worse than ever.
