Product Description
Salt is in.
New research suggests many people, especially athletes and those following paleo, keto, or low-carb diets, are undersalted. As athletes, we may already be aware of the importance of proper hydration, and most of us know that plain H2O alone won’t suffice.
Why do we love LMNT?
Working out in the heat adds to the need to replace lost electrolytes (especially salts).
Several electrolyte products are filling the gap – some quite terrible and loaded with sugar, toxic dyes and other junk you don’t need. Then others don’t have the sugar and other crap BUT they taste downright repulsive.
There are a few that do it right. LMNT is at the top of that list.
What most of the popular electrolyte drinks on the market do wrong is include too low amounts of electrolytes and miss the mark on the “optimal ratio”. A primary benefit of LMNT is that it gets that ratio right without anything extra.
What’s in LMNT?
They give you more electrolytes in the ideal ratio:
- 1000 mg SODIUM
- 200 mg POTASSIUM
- 60 mg MAGNESIUM
Pioneered by Robb Wolf (biochemist and 2X New York Times/WSJ Best Selling author of The Paleo Solution and Wired To Eat), LMNT has taken the latest science and formulated an electrolyte mix that hits all the right salty notes in what the body needs (and doesn’t need).
What are my options?
LMNT electrolytes come in a variety of flavors, so tasty that you might end up with a bit of addiction.
What flavor to choose? With seven different deliciously salty flavors (and four chocolate flavors), it can be hard to decide! To help you out, here are our top picks:
1. Summer: Citrus and Orange Salt are two of our favorite flavors. Citrus salt tastes a little like a margarita, without the tequila. Of course, no reason you can’t celebrate a tough training session by throwing in a shot after your workout, right??
2. Winter: Chocolate Salt is a staple. It is irresistible when made hot and makes a great addition to your morning or afternoon coffee. They also have a Chocolate Medley!
Wanna spice things up? Give Mango Chile a try—this interesting and tasty flavor has a hint of heat.
How to Use LMNT Electrolytes:
LMNT electrolyte mixes are easy to use; simply drop a pack of your favorite flavor into your water bottle, shake, and drink. They mix easily and won’t get clumpy. You can adjust the flavor or saltiness concentration by adding more or less water to your preference.
Drink one at the beginning of your workout and/or rehydrate with it post-workout. We also love making it a priority in the morning before coffee to get the adrenal system firing.
Enjoy and be salty... the good kind.

LMNT FAQ's
Everything you need to know about LMNT.

LMNT was built around one principle: give you the electrolytes your body actually needs at doses that matter, with nothing else in the formula. Most electrolyte products are either loaded with sugar and artificial dyes, or they deliver such small amounts of sodium and potassium that they barely move the needle — LMNT solves both problems with 1,000mg sodium, 200mg potassium, and 60mg magnesium per stick, zero sugar, zero junk.
Most electrolyte drinks were designed around the outdated idea that sodium is bad — so they underdeliver on the mineral athletes need most. LMNT was founded on newer science showing that active people, especially those eating paleo or low-carb, lose significant sodium through sweat and are consistently undersalted rather than oversalted. The 1,000mg per stick isn't an accident — it's the point.
No — the low-carb community discovered it first because they deplete electrolytes faster, but the formula works for any athlete who sweats hard and wants clean hydration without sugar or fillers. If you train in heat, sweat a lot, or just want an electrolyte product with meaningful doses instead of token amounts, LMNT is built for you.
Drop one stick into 16 to 32 ounces of water, shake, and drink. Use more water if you want a milder flavor, less for a saltier hit. One stick pre-workout or during a session covers most training days, and many athletes swear by having one first thing in the morning before coffee to get their electrolytes — and their day — started right.
It depends on your body, your sweat rate, and how hard you're training. Most athletes find one to two sticks per day optimal — one around training, one at another point during the day. The latest research points to 4 to 6 grams of daily sodium as a solid target for active people, and LMNT fits cleanly into that range without you having to do math.
