Trail Butter FAQ's
Everything you need to know before getting started.

Trail Butter works best as a mid-effort real food fuel — typically 45–60 minutes into a long effort, or whenever you'd naturally want something more substantial than a gel. On long hikes or ultra-distance events, it fits perfectly into your regular eating schedule every 45–90 minutes alongside faster-acting carb sources.
Gels are designed for fast carbohydrate delivery and are great for intensity. Trail Butter is built for longer, steadier efforts where you need more calories, more satiety, and fuel that your gut will actually tolerate hour after hour. The combination of healthy fats, protein, and natural carbs gives you sustained energy without the blood sugar spike and crash that can come from back-to-back gels.
Trail Butter is plant-based, non-GMO, soy-free, and paleo-friendly. It does contain tree nuts (almonds) or peanuts depending on the flavor, and the Dark Chocolate & Coffee flavor uses fair trade dark chocolate. It is not suitable for athletes with nut allergies.
Trail Butter keeps well at room temperature, making it ideal for travel, race bags, and vest pockets. No refrigeration needed.
