Product Description

Endurance sports put unique demands on bone health, and the repetitive impact that training makes doesn't always translate into healthy bone density. This is part of why bone stress injuries are a real concern for distance runners specifically.

Thorne's Vitamin K is built to maintain bone mineral density and supports healthy blood vessels.

Directs calcium where it belongs – Vitamin K activates the proteins that pull calcium into bone tissue and keep it out of arteries and other soft tissue, working alongside vitamin D to manage that balance.

More MK-4 than typical multi-K products – This formula contains a notably higher dose of the MK-4 form of K2 than most other combination vitamin K products on the market.

Uses the most-researched form of MK-7 – The MK-7 in this formula is MenaQ7, the specific branded form used in the majority of published MK-7 research.

Vitamin K isn't one nutrient. Vitamin K1 is the form found in leafy greens, while K2 comes in a couple of distinct forms, MK-4 and MK-7, each with a somewhat different role and duration of activity in the body. K1 and K2 both activate proteins involved in blood clotting, but K2 specifically plays a larger role in activating osteocalcin, a protein that helps bind calcium into bone, and matrix Gla protein, which helps keep calcium from accumulating in arterial walls. Getting adequate K1 and both forms of K2 together covers more of that pathway than a single-form vitamin K product would.

How to Use Thorne Vitamin K

Dose: Take one capsule one to two times daily, or as recommended by your health-care practitioner.

If you take blood-thinning medication: Vitamin K directly interferes with anticoagulant drugs like warfarin (Coumadin), and concurrent use of vitamin K supplements with these medications should be avoided. Talk to your prescribing doctor before considering this product if you're on any anticoagulant.

Consult your healthcare provider before use if pregnant. This product is contraindicated for anyone with a history of hypersensitivity to its ingredients.

Endurance training's repetitive impact doesn't always translate into healthy bone density, and bone stress injuries are a real concern for distance runners. This formula is built to support the bone mineral density that impact training can work against.

K1, MK-4, and MK-7 each play a somewhat different role and duration of activity in the body. Covering all three gets more of the calcium-directing pathway than a single-form vitamin K product would.

Higher training volume means more repetitive skeletal loading, and that's the population bone stress injuries show up in most. There's no established higher dose specifically tied to training volume, but it's part of why this formula leans heavier on MK-4 than typical multi-K products.

Take one capsule one to two times daily, or as recommended by your health-care practitioner.

Yes. Vitamin K directly interferes with blood thinners like warfarin, so talk to your prescribing doctor first if you're on any anticoagulant. Also consult your provider if pregnant.
