Full-spectrum tocopherols – Alongside 500 IU of d-alpha tocopherol, this gelcap includes beta, gamma, and delta tocopherols in their naturally occurring ratio, which research suggests has a stronger effect against lipid peroxidation than alpha-tocopherol alone.
Protects cell membranes from oxidative damage – Vitamin E works as a chain-breaking antioxidant, neutralizing free radicals before they can damage the fats that make up your cell membranes.
Not diluted with soy oil filler – Thorne's vitamin E is extracted from a mixture of vegetable oils, including soy, but molecular distillation removes the allergenic soy residue rather than leaving soy oil in as a cheap filler.
Vitamin E functions as a fat-soluble antioxidant, meaning it works in fat deposits, cell membranes, and lipoproteins rather than in the watery parts of your body. How to Use Thorne Ultimate-E
Dose: Take one gelcap one to three times daily, or as recommended by your health-care practitioner.
With a fat-containing meal: Vitamin E is fat-soluble, so pairing it with a meal that has some fat in it improves absorption more than taking it on an empty stomach.
High-dose vitamin E may increase bleeding tendency, particularly if you're taking anticoagulant medication, since it can influence platelet aggregation. This product contains bovine gelatin, so it's not a fit if you're vegan or vegetarian. Consult your healthcare provider before use if pregnant.
