Product Description
Ultrarunners have been stuffing ice under their hats at aid stations for years, and it is not a gimmick. Every serious runner who has watched a race fall apart due to heat knows it's one of the biggest factors in performance.
Your head carries a dense network of blood vessels close to the skin surface, which is part of why dumping cold water or ice on your scalp produces such a fast cooling sensation and makes you feel better. The problem is keeping ice on you is a challenge, and running gear was never built for such a thing. So athletes end up jamming ice under a cap and losing half of it down their back before the next mile marker.
Not anymore. The Feed Ice Hat is a simple, purpose-built solution for keeping cool. This lightweight polyester cap designed specifically to carry ice against your head during training and racing in the heat.
Holds Ice Where It Counts – The crown is built to hold a real load of ice contained in a separate space on top. As the ice inside the hat melts, that cold water runs down against your scalp and neck, pulling heat away and keeping you cool.
Adjustable on the Fly – The adjustable back strap lets you fill the hat first and dial in the fit second, which matters once the crown is packed and sitting differently on your head than it does empty.
Simple Gear For A Big Problem – No gel packs, no batteries, no prep needed. Just ice, a hat, and a fit system that holds up through the miles. You can use it at the start and keep refilling it at each aid station.
How to Use The Feed Ice Hat
Fill the crown roughly two-thirds full with ice, either while wearing the hat or by loading it before putting it on. Pull the drawstring closed, put it back on, and let it melt.
Top off with fresh ice at aid stations or fluid stops during long runs, races, or hot-weather training blocks where you will pass a cooler or ice supply more than once. For pre-race prep, fill and wear the hat for a few minutes before your start to pre-cool before the gun goes off. Hand wash and air dry between uses. Polyester holds odor if left damp, so let it dry fully before storing it in a gear bag.

The Feed Ice Hat FAQ's
Everything you need to know about The Feed Ice Hat.

Your scalp carries a dense network of blood vessels close to the skin surface, which is why cold water on your head produces such a fast cooling effect. The hat holds a real load of ice in a separate crown space, and as it melts, cold water runs down against your scalp and neck to pull heat away.
Fill the crown roughly two-thirds full with ice, either while wearing the hat or before putting it on. Pull the drawstring closed and let it melt — top off with fresh ice at aid stations or fluid stops during long runs or hot-weather training.
Yes — fill and wear the hat for a few minutes before your start to pre-cool before the gun goes off, so you're not playing catch-up on heat management once you're already moving.
No — that's the whole problem this solves. The crown holds ice in a dedicated space instead of loose under the fabric, and the adjustable back strap lets you dial in the fit after it's packed, so it stays put instead of sliding around and dumping ice down your back.
Hand wash and air dry between uses. Polyester holds odor if left damp, so make sure it's fully dry before storing it in your gear bag.
