Its fast-digesting puffed rice base makes it suitable both early in a session and deep into long efforts when your gut becomes more sensitive.
Yes on both counts. The BAR50 is Vegan Society registered and gluten-free, made with all-natural ingredients and no artificial sweeteners or preservatives. It's made in a UK facility that handles milk, egg, nuts, peanuts, sulphites, and sesame — check individual packaging if you have severe allergies.
With 250mg of sodium per bar, the BAR50 brings meaningful salt to your fueling setup. That makes it a natural fit alongside plain water or a lighter drink mix. If you're already using a high-sodium hydration product, factor the bar's sodium content into your total intake.
There's no hard upper limit, but one bar per hour is the standard guideline for demanding endurance efforts. For athletes targeting 80–90g of carbohydrates per hour, the BAR50 can be combined with gels or drink mixes to hit higher intake targets.
