Product Description
Accurate training calls for an accurate heart rate reading, and an arm or chest band is the best way to get that. Not a big fan of a chest strap? The optical sensor allows you that same precision without it. It reads the blood flow under your skin, so all it needs is a snug fit against bare skin.
Optical sensors shine light into your skin and measure how much blood flows beneath it with each heartbeat, a method called photoplethysmography. The sensor converts those changes in blood volume into a heart rate number. Because the reading depends on light reaching your skin, a snug fit matters, and an ECG chest strap like the Polar H10 is the better tool when you need the most precise reading during rapid heart rate changes.
