Why would I buy just the headband? If you're a heavy sweater or you know you go through gear, this is a great backup. Also, you may have a set of cooling pieces and want other options to carry them.
How does the technology work?
This headgear is what we’d call “passive cooling”. It’s designed with a silicon grid that securely holds its cooling pieces in place (the MVP here). The cooling pieces are a graphite material that sit on your headgear.
By using the power of evaporation, water or sweat is absorbed into the porous graphite material. That creates a 500% increase in surface area for evaporation. This amplified evaporation process pulls heat from the inside of the cooling pieces, which are in direct contact with the skin, resulting in a much more significant cooling effect.
What sets Omius apart is that its cooling effect relies solely on water evaporation. As long as the cooling pieces remain wet and have airflow across them, the cooling process will continue indefinitely. No freezing, charging, or work required.
Their cooling pieces are easily replaceable and transferable too, meaning you can swap them between different Omius products to take them wherever you go.

Porous graphite tiles sit in a silicone grid and soak up sweat or water. That creates ~5× more evaporative surface area, so airflow pulls heat off your skin continuously—no batteries, ice, or charging required.
Wet the inserts before training (or let sweat do it), keep them exposed to moving air, and re-wet as needed. The effect lasts indefinitely as long as the tiles stay damp with airflow.
Yes. The tiles pop out so you can swap them between Omius hats, visors, and headbands. Replacement packs are available when pieces eventually chip or wear out.
The headband is one-size-fits-most, built around a slim elastic profile that fits snug without hot spots. At just 50 g (1.6 oz), it disappears under a helmet, running hat, or on its own.
