Product Description

Every athlete knows hydration matters. But how much should you drink? When? Water or electrolytes? The honest answer is that it depends — on your sweat rate, your sweat composition, the heat, the intensity, and a dozen other variables that are different for every athlete and every workout. Generic hydration advice can only get you so far.

The Nix Hydration Biosensor is the first wearable that reads your sweat in real time and tells you exactly when, what, and how much to drink — personalized to your body, your session, and the conditions you're actually training in.

Real-Time Data, Right on Your Wrist or Handlebar The lightweight pod — under half an ounce — clips onto a single-use sweat patch on your arm. Once you're sweating, it analyzes your fluid and electrolyte losses per hour and streams that data directly to the Nix app. You can receive live hydration notifications on your phone, Apple Watch, or bike computer so you're never guessing mid-effort.

Sweat Composition, Not Just Volume Most hydration tools track how much you sweat. Nix goes deeper — measuring the specific electrolyte content of your sweat, not just fluid loss. That distinction matters because two athletes sweating the same amount can have wildly different sodium losses. Nix gives you the data to match your drink choice to what your body is actually losing.

A Post-Workout Debrief That Makes You Smarter After every session, the app delivers a full summary: total fluid losses, total electrolyte losses, and sweat composition. Over time, you build a picture of how your hydration needs shift with intensity, temperature, and training load — intel that carries forward into every future race and training block. The app also surfaces a list of hydration products organized by electrolyte composition so you can match your drink to your needs.

How to use the Nix Hydration Biosensor

Setup is straightforward — input your workout type, location, and what you plan to drink, and the patch handles the rest. Plan on being well into your warm-up before the first data update comes through (typically around 25 minutes, once you're actively sweating). For that reason, Nix is best suited to sessions of 45 minutes or longer and high-intensity efforts where you're generating real sweat volume. The patches are single-use, so save them for workouts that count.

Since launching in 2022, Nix has made significant improvements to connectivity, reliability, and app performance, and continues to push regular updates. The build quality is excellent for the category — solid, light, and designed for real training conditions.

How the Nix Hydration Biosensor Works

Input your workout type and planned drinks into the app before you start. Once you begin sweating, the patch measures fluid and electrolyte losses per hour.

Data streams live to the Nix app on iOS or Android and can push notifications to your watch or bike computer. Post-workout, review your complete hydration summary and use it to dial in your strategy going forward.
