Product Description
A good pack makes a difference in your long runs. Your stride opens up, your arms can swing the way they're supposed to, and you have all the nutrition you need on board the moment you let go of a bottle.
The QuickStart 3.0 4L is Nathan's minimalist pack. It's built to get hydration out of your hand and onto your back, carrying 1.5 liters plus your phone, gels, and a layer in a pack that weighs just 7.5 ounces empty.
Your hands stay free – The 1.5 liter NATHAN x HydraPak bladder sits in its own compartment with hook and loop keepers so it stays put as it empties, and the push-pull bite valve pulls apart in seconds for cleaning.
No bounce comfort – Adjustable straps run across the front and both sides, so you dial in a snug fit through the chest and ribs, with elastic keepers tucking away any extra webbing.
Room for more without extra bulk – Two expandable mesh pockets up front hold a soft flask and small essentials, a zip pocket secures your phone or keys, and a rear stretch pocket plus elastic pole keeper cover a jacket or trekking poles.
The bladder's hourglass shape and internal baffle keep water from sloshing side to side, which is the sensation that makes bigger packs feel unstable at speed. Hose exit points sit at both shoulders, so you route the bite valve to whichever side you reach for. The straps and pockets are quick-dry mesh that sheds sweat and rain, and reflective details add visibility for early morning or evening runs. The one size fits most cut covers a wide range of chest and torso sizes, which is why the straps adjust as far as they do.
How to Use the Nathan QuickStart 3.0 4L
Fit: Cinch the sternum strap first, then pull both side straps until the pack sits flat against your back. Re-adjust once the bladder is full, since 1.5 liters of water changes how the pack settles.
Longer runs: Load the front pocket with a 20 ounce soft flask for extra fluid or an electrolyte mix, and use the zip pocket to keep your phone or keys secure.
Rinse the bladder and hose after every run with warm water and let both dry fully before storing the pack to keep mold from building up inside.
