IRONMANs are no small feat. You should have the ultimate confidence in your preparation and your game plan. Here is how you could use the Maurten IRONMAN Pack for race day, with g/carbs and caffeine noted.

Pre-Race

Preloading: 1-4hrs before start, use these to “top off” while getting ready.

1 x Drink Mix 320 (80g) or

1 x Drink Mix 160 (40g) or

1 x Solid 160 (40g)

Swim

Pre-swim intake: Right before the start, take one of the following.

1 x Gel 100 Caf 100 (25g + 100mg caf.) or

1 x Gel 160 (40g) or

1 x Gel 100 (25g)

Bike

During the bike leg intake: Use a combination of these products to reach 60-90g of carbohydrates per hour, every hour.

1 x Drink Mix 160 and 1 x Gel 100 = 65g

1 x Drink Mix 320 Caf 100 = 80g + 100mg caf.

1 x Drink Mix 160 and 1 x Gel 100 Caf 100 and 1 x Gel 100 = 90g + 100mg caf.

Run

During the final leg, the run, use these options:

6 x Gel 100s (25g each) = 150g

2 x Gel 100 Caf 100 and 4 x Gel 100 (25g each) =150g + 200mg caf.

4 x Gel 160 = 160g
