Garmin HRM 200 FAQ's
Everything you need to know before getting started.

The HRM 200's CR2032 battery typically lasts up to 12 months based on one hour of daily use. You can replace it yourself without any tools—the strap slider includes an integrated battery compartment opener.
Remove the heart rate module from the strap by unsnapping it. Machine wash the strap on a gentle cycle. The module itself is water-resistant to 3 ATM, so it's fine in sweat and rain, but don't submerge it.
Yes. Chest straps using electrodes achieve 99%+ accuracy compared to medical-grade ECG devices. Wrist-based optical sensors can lag 5-15 bpm during rapid heart rate changes and high-intensity training. If you're training by specific zones or following structured workouts, a chest strap provides significantly more reliable data.
Absolutely. ANT+ and Bluetooth connectivity means it works with any compatible device—Apple Watch, Wahoo head units, Peloton bikes, Zwift, TrainerRoad, Strava, and most gym equipment with wireless connectivity.
Measure your chest circumference at the base of your sternum (just below your chest muscles). Choose XS-S for 23.5"-33.5" or M-XL for 31.5"-47". A strap extender is available separately if needed for larger measurements.
