Balega Blister Resist Quarter FAQ's
Everything you need to know before getting started.

These socks use mohair fiber, which has a flat scale structure that reduces friction at the molecular level—the primary cause of blisters. Combined with Drynamix™ moisture management and maximum cushioning in high-impact zones, they eliminate the conditions (friction, moisture, and pressure) that create blisters during long runs.
Mohair is a natural fiber from Angora goats with unique properties: it's one of the strongest natural performance fibers, it's naturally antimicrobial (prevents odor), it thermoregulates (keeps feet cool in summer and warm in winter), and its hollow fiber structure wicks moisture while staying soft. Synthetic fibers can't match this combination of benefits.
The Blister Resist Quarter features maximum cushioning, which means more volume than lightweight performance socks. If you typically wear thin socks or have a snug shoe fit, you may need to size up your shoes or adjust your lacing. The cushioning is designed for long-distance runners who prioritize blister prevention and impact absorption over minimal feel.
No. The extra deep heel pocket and enhanced elastic grip construction lock the sock in place. This is Balega's signature fit—the quarter height sits securely above your ankle, and the heel pocket prevents the sock from sliding down into your shoe, even during ultras and long trail runs.
