The New Watch on The Block: COROS PACE 4 Pro

The all-new COROS Pace 4 Pro is here, and with it the best display the brand has made, a remarkable battery life, and durability that can take all the miles you throw at it.

COROS released the Pace 4 Pro with every intention of solving one problem: a watch that looks great on a spec sheet but falls apart under the true weight of daily training. The Pace 4 Pro is a notch above, with a titanium bezel, sapphire glass, the biggest and brightest screen COROS has built, and a battery rated for 60 hours of GPS tracking.

Here's what changed, and why it matters if you're looking for a new watch.

More Life

Battery life gets the largest jump in Pace history. In HIGH GPS mode, the Pace 4 Pro runs for 60 hours, compared with 41 hours on the Pace 4 and 38 on the Pace Pro. Switch to MAX mode, which turns on dual-frequency GPS for better accuracy in cities and under tree cover, and that number drops to 45 hours, still ahead of both earlier watches. Worn as a daily smartwatch, the battery stretches to 21 days, or seven days with the always-on display running. A 30-minute charge returns roughly 10 hours of GPS tracking, and a full charge from empty takes about 90 minutes. For a runner stacking long runs, strength sessions, and daily wear tracking into one week, that's the difference between charging on a schedule and charging when it's convenient.

More Light

The Pace 4 Pro carries a 1.47-inch AMOLED display, a jump from the 1.2-inch panel on the Pace 4 and the 1.3-inch panel on the Pace Pro. At 466 by 466 pixels and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, the screen holds up to direct sun at noon, which is where cheaper training watches usually wash out. COROS can sustain 2,500 nits without dropping to the peak figure, so the display stays legible through longer efforts, not just for a few seconds after you tap the case. Up to 11 data fields fit on screen at once, giving triathletes and ultra runners room for pace, heart rate, power, and nutrition timers without cycling through screens mid-effort.

More Durable

This is the first Pace model watch with a titanium bezel, and it pairs that with sapphire glass over the display instead of the mineral glass or Gorilla Glass found on cheaper training watches. Sapphire resists scratching far better than either alternative, which matters for a watch that spends its life against trail rock, gym equipment, and car doors. Despite the upgrade in materials, the watch head weighs 38 grams, and the full package with the nylon band comes in at 43 grams, both lighter than most watches in this category.

Hands Free

The Pace 4 Pro ships with 32GB of storage and full-color offline maps rendered on the watch itself, with turn-by-turn navigation, trail names, and points of interest available without a phone connection. Twice the RAM of the standard Pace 4 lets those maps render faster, so an unfamiliar trail or a new city block doesn't slow you down while you wait for the watch to catch up. Dual-frequency GPS pulls signal from two satellite bands instead of one, which keeps pace and distance accurate in the places single-frequency GPS struggles most: dense city blocks, canyon walls, and heavy tree cover.

A built-in speaker joins the microphone already on the Pace 4, adding hands-free calls to the voice notes and Voice Pins the line already supported. Hold the action button to answer a call or log a note without breaking stride.

Recovery Suite

The Pace 4 Pro also tracks overnight HRV, daily stress levels, sleep stages, sleep consistency, and a nightly sleep score. Sleep consistency measures how regular your bedtime and wake time run across the week, a number that predicts recovery better than total hours slept on their own. Stress tracking runs through the full day rather than switching on only during workouts, pulling from heart rate variability to catch load your body is holding outside of training sessions. None of these numbers replace your own read on how a workout should go, but together they give you a valuable data point.

Why The Pace 4 Pro

From elite marathoners to first-time 5K racers, the Pace 4 Pro gives you race predictions, a virtual pacer, running fitness scores, and training load analysis, so your training decisions come from data instead of guesswork. A watch this light and this accurate used to mean choosing between a display you could see and a battery that lasted the week. The Pace 4 Pro gives you both, at a price most watches in this category don't reach.
