Ferdinand Airault — known as The Magic Runner — is a French ultra-trail athlete based in New York City, competing for the Aravaipa Racing Team. He came to running in 2018 when co-workers in Hong Kong invited him to a trail corporate challenge, an experience that changed his life. From weekend hiking, he found his way to trail and ultra racing, eventually relocating to New York after COVID and joining Central Park Track Club. A trader for nearly a decade, he left finance in late 2023 to pursue running, magic, and entrepreneurship full time, founding Trail Blaze Coaching — through which he trains athletes for some of the world's toughest ultras.
