SIS Energy Gel

What we think

When your body's muscle glycogen (carbohydrate stores) run out, you can experience that hit the wall feeling known as bonking. For those long rides and runs, your muscle glycogen will get used up and, unless you replenish it, you will start to see a decrease in performance. Taking in fast absorbing carbohydrates will prevent bonking and boost endurance, but sometimes the high sugar content of gels can cause stomach issues. That's where this innovative formula from SiS comes in!

As the world's first isotonic gel, these Energy Gels by Science in Sport are changing the game! They effectively deliver an easily digestible and quick supply of carbohydrate for energy during exercise by combining sources of carbohydrates, allowing the body to absorb more carbohydrates per hour than glucose alone. They are isotonic, meaning they are super concentrated and are less likely to lead to stomach distress.

These gels are also unique because they don’t require you to drink water with them, making them a great option if you tend to experience that full, sloshy feeling from drinking too much water with your gels. They also contain three different electrolytes to promote proper fuel and fluid absorption. The consistency of the gels is much more liquid than some, making it very easy to get down during exercise.

The GO Isotonic Energy Gels are used by some of the top cycling teams in the world. They are designed for on-the-go fuel and are pressure tested so you don’t have to worry about them bursting or tearing during exercise. They are also Informed Sport Certified, so you know exactly what you’re getting.

How We Use It

These energy gels are portable and easy to take with you on long training rides, especially since they don’t require tons of water to be taken with them. We recommend having one gel every 30-45 minutes during rides or runs that are over 90 minutes. You can also have one with electrolytes 30 minutes before exercise to help with hydration and to top off fuel stores!
