Gnarly BCAAs offer 5 grams of vegan essential branched chain amino acids! They are essential, meaning they can't be produced by your body and must be obtained from food. Those three essential BCAAs are Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine, which have been shown to promote muscle synthesis, decrease muscle fatigue and damage, and alleviate muscle soreness!

According to research, increased leucine intake actually enhances muscle building rates. It has also been shown that isoleucine and valine may stimulate less muscle synthesis in comparison to leucine. However, research suggests taking a combination of all three branched chain amino acids together shows a significant increase in total muscle synthesis!

Why do we need to supplement with BCAAs? Is protein alone not enough?
Here’s the thing… Although protein supplementation is integral to your post workout recovery, it is not enough to provide high plasma BCAA levels. Adding free-form BCAAs into your daily regimen will help increase those plasma BCAA levels higher than any protein supplement. Consuming those BCAAs also help with optimal nutrient absorption, which allows your body to get full use of your nutritious meals.
When should I take BCAAs?
You can add BCAAs into your daily routine either during or after intense exercise. This allows your body to absorb essential amino acids at the times it needs the most! In our experiences, we highly suggest taking these during your exercise and follow up with a protein source after. Gnarly BCAAs do contain 35mg of natural green tea leaf caffeine, which may keep you up at night if ingested late!
