What makes it different?

So what is the difference in options?

• Drink Mix 160: 160 calories, 40 g of carbohydrate, 160 mg sodium. A better option for lighter training days or to get more hydration for those hot humid days (for example, 2 bottles of 160 give you the same nutrients as one bottle of 320, plus more sodium for extra hydration needs).
• Drink Mix 320: 320 calories, 80 g of carbohydrate, 200 mg sodium. A better option for higher intensity, longer duration training days or events. 

Mix Drink Mix 160 or 320 with water, and you’ll have a liquid sports drink high in carbohydrates and sodium. The drink instantly converts to hydrogel in the acidity of the stomach, encapsulating the carbohydrates and mimicking a gel consistency. The hydrogel then enables a smooth transportation of the drink through the stomach to the intestine where the water, salt, and carbohydrates are absorbed. This product is great because it’s easy to take in during exercise, it allows you to simply drink water but still get the benefit of a chew or gel.   

How to use it:

With Maurten Drink Mix, it is very important that you only use the exact amount of water recommended to make sure the technology works to its full potential. This product is designed to be mixed with 17 oz. (500 mL) of water that has less than 40 mg/L calcium content.

Maurten is careful to say that the functionality of this ratio is key for it to work well. Also, make sure you shake well until the solution dissolves. Drink it before, during and/or after your activity.
