One of Rodeo Lab’s founders, Stephen Fitzgerald, has a family connection with a bakery in the Pacific Northwest. Bake Works is run by his dad and his brother and has been a family business for almost 20 years. When we say bakery, we mean a fully modern food creation facility that serves healthy (and guilty pleasure) products to millions of people around the USA every year. They had previously asked to sponsor a team, but didn’t have any products that fit well with sports nutrition. Enter Rodeo Labs.
Rodeo Labs decided to collaborate with them to dream up a bar of their own the way they wanted it done: Simple, all natural, and delicious. The result is the Rodeo Trail Nugget! Date-based with delicious mix ins like almonds, beets, lemon oil or peanut butter, these bars are all natural and totally delicious. The flavor is so light and pure, and the texture is soft enough to be eaten and digested easily. Everyone at The Feed, UNANIMOUSLY, says they are amazing! If you're looking for something new that will be the best bar you've ever tasted, you're going to want to order a few, or 40 trail nuggets!
Feed's Fave: Lemon Almond Hot Date
We use it 1-2 hours before low-intensity exercise or during long duration, low-intensity exercise. If you eat them during intense exercise, take small bites to allow for digestion.
Rip Van Wafels use simple NON-GMO ingredients, the same kind you’d use if you made them in your own kitchen like eggs, flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. Plus a few nutritious ingredients like, oats, chickpea flour and flax seed oil for an extra dose of Omega 3s. They are soft, easy to chew and don’t pack an overdose of calories or carbs. They’re perfect.
We truly believe there is no wrong time to have a wafel. First thing in the morning they go great topped with greek yogurt, nuts and dried fruit or with a steaming cup of coffee. Mid-morning they make a great snack. Slap some nut butter on them and they make the perfect sandwich. Enjoy them placed on top of your 3pm cup of coffee as it cools down and taste a perfectly warmed wafel. Let them carry you through your evening workout, and if you give us time I’m sure we can find a way to make dinner with them.
Feed's Fave: Dutch Caramel and Vanilla
This versatile product can be consumed anytime. We like to take it with us and eat it on our way to a workout to make sure we have a properly fueled stomach.
Gu Energy Gels have been a staple of fueling for endurance sports for the past 20 years. Created for daily training and competition, GU Energy Gel packs energy-dense calories in a portable packet to help sustain energy demands of any duration or activity. The 100-calorie packet contains carbohydrates (maltodextrin and fructose) that use non-competing pathways to help maximize carbohydrate absorption while diminishing stomach distress. Sodium, the primary electrolyte lost in sweat, aids in hydration by maintaining water balance. The branched-chain amino acids (leucine, valine, isoleucine) may reduce mental fatigue and decrease muscle damage. It is important to remember to always drink water when taking these gels, since water is used in the digestion process. Also, if you're using the caffeinated gels like Gu Espresso Love make sure you use them when you really need the added energy. We recommend before an intense workout, or at the end of a long workout when you need a boost the most.
Some of the Gu flavors have more caffeine than others. Caramel Macchiato, Espresso Love, and Jet Blackberry all have 40mg caffeine, while all other flavors marked with caffeine have 20mg. Peanut Butter, Strawberry Banana, Lemon Sublime, and Big Apple are the only flavors without any caffeine.
The Feed’s Fave: Vanilla Bean
Towards the end of long efforts or during short intense efforts. One gel will get you 25 to 30 minutes of quick energy. Consume with at least 8oz of water.
Bobo's Oat Bars have been a local Boulder favorite for over 10 years. Bobo started baking bars in her kitchen and hasn't lost her home-made taste even though she has out-grown her kitchen! Bobo's Oat Bars come in 16 delicious flavors that are all gluten-free, non-GMO, wheat free and vegan. They are nutritionally dense with a great blend of high-quality ingredients. We love Bobo's because they are they are calorie dense, yet don't feel like a firm brick when you bite into them.
The Feed’s Fave: Peanut Butter, Original or Lemon Poppyseed.
Bobo’s Oat Bars are ideal as a grab-and-go breakfast, a midday snack, or fuel for long endurance sports. If you're training with Bobo's, we recommend eating half a bar at a time to give your body the chance to digest them properly.
This super-seed now comes in a super-bar! Health Warrior Chia Bars harness the power of this 'runner's food' that has been used for centuries by Aztec warriors and messengers on cross-empire journeys, and the Tarahumara Indians on their legendary long-distance runs. Now you can tap into the ancient seed and use it to fuel your next adventure! The bars are small, coming in at only 100 calories, but they are incredibly nutrient dense which means you get more bang for your caloric buck. They have 1000mg of Omega-3, 4g of protein and fiber, and only 5g of sugar. They are super light and easy to digest, and the moisture absorbing power of the chia seeds works to keep your body extra hydrated.

These dehydrated bananas are 100% organic, 100% wheat-free, 100% vegan, totally raw and packed with nutrients. Whatever flavor combination tickles your fancy, Barnana will not disappoint!
Feed's Fave: Apple Cinnamon
We enjoying taking a pack of this product with us on some of our longer rides or runs. The longer the ride, the greater the risk of cramping. Barnana provides us with an ample amount of potassium, allows us to stay cramp free and keep trucking!

Clif Bloks were a game changer when they were announced in 2005. At the time, there were very few “energy chews” on the market, and although you could stop by the convenience store for some gummy worms, Bloks upped the game by adding essential electrolytes to their gummies.
The Feed’s Faves: Tropical Punch or Mountain Berry
One serving is three blocks, but we believe in rationing them. During your workout consume 1 block at a time every 10-15 minutes, or 2 at a time every 30 minutes. Eating less than 3 blocks at a time is a more manageable amount to stomach when you’re exercising and won’t overload your gut with sugar nor require too much fluid to digest. The key is once you begin eating blocks, or any fast-acting energy, you need to continue consuming them throughout your workout. You can also use these
The ProBar Bolt Chew is gluten free, dairy free and organic. Each chew is bite-sized and has a great blend of electrolytes, complex carbohydrates and B-vitamins to ensure you get the nutrition you need during exercise. The flavor is subtle and slightly tart. They also have a consistency more akin to fruit snacks. They are easy to consume on rides and give the perfect hit of energy when you need it.
It is important to remember to consume water with these chews when using them during exercise.
The Feed’s Fave: Berry Blast
We use these chews right before exercise or during medium-high intensity exercise. If we're feeling extra tired, we opt for the Berry Blast of Raspberry flavors which contain caffeine from yerba mate. Wash these bad boys down with a little water and receive that perfect hit of energy.
Nuun Active Hydration is an electrolyte-enhanced drink tablet that will keep you optimally hydrated. It's packed with optimal electrolytes, clean ingredients, a light refreshing flavor, and is low in calories. A tablet (20 oz) only has 6-8 calories.
The electrolytes will replenish what you lose when you sweat and the extra sodium will help keep your muscles from cramping. It comes in 14 different flavors so you're sure to find something that tickles your fancy. The effervescent bubbles add a little sparkle to your bottle, it's like soda only better. Throw one of these easy-to-carry tubes in your gym bag and never be without proper hydration again! (Gluten free, vegan, informed choice, and non-geo sourced dextrose)
Feed's Fave: Lemon Lime
Struggling to stay awake/motivated at work? Instead of reaching for that sugary treat, pop a Nuun tablet in your water bottle and get back on the grind. We love having Nuun at all times ready to go if we start to feel dehydrated and tired. Nuun tablets work for pre-workout and post-workout hydration!
This was one of our first recovery mixes at The Feed....it tastes great and it works. We use Fluid Recovery after any medium-high intensity workout lasting longer than 90 minutes. If you're workout is shorter, but very intense (45-60 minutes), this product also works. For intense workouts less than 60 minutes in duration, watch those calories and consider this as a meal replacement. The truth about recovery for endurance sports is that you need the right mix of fast acting carbohydrate + protein. Fluid has great ratios, along with glutamine an amino acid that prevents muscle breakdown.
Gluten-free, lactose-free and made from all natural ingredients, the Fluid Recovery Single provides glutamine, electrolytes, and vitamin c, in its 4 to 1 carb/protein blend. This recovery focuses on carb-based recovery to restore muscle glycogen, buffer cramping and break down lactic acid. Mix up a recovery shake or drop a packet of this into your smoothie within 30 minutes after your next workout to boost your glycogen synthesis and minimize your recovery time.
Recovery was the first product offered by Fluid, and they have perfected it and its flavors. Our favorite, the Chocolate Wave contains Dutch processed cocoa, making the mix taste like a delicious glass of chocolate milk.
The Feed’s Fave: Chocolate Wave
We love to mix this up in a blender bottle after an intense cardio or endurance session. Mixes easy, tastes great, and gives muscles exactly what they need to perform the following day.
