There's been a growing restlessness in the athlete community with the overly sweet sports nutrition products out there. Clif Bar has joined the revolution and has created a unique, savory, whole-food pouch for those of you who just can't stomach one more vanilla flavored gel. Essentially these are fruit ropes. They come in five different flavors of organic fruit puree twisted into a fun candy-like form. The texture and flavor of these should not be confused with that of fruity-sugary equivalents. Rather than are more like a fruit leather where you can actually taste real fruit. In fact each Z Fruit contains one serving of real fruit with fortified nutrients specific to kids. As with Clif products, they also contain no added sugars, artificial flavors, preservatives or colors.
Clif Z Fruit contains no high fructose corn syrup and they have a lot less sugar than energy chews. Don’t confuse them with this sort of product. With each package containing on 70 calories, these are a healthy snack. We find light, sweet and natural fruit flavor great for kids, but even more appealing to adults.
The Feed’s Fave: Strawberry, Fruit Punch
This product has served us well as a snack mid day when we are craving something sweet. The nasty chemicals are no where to be found in this product so you can enjoy it guilt free. If you are waiting until the afternoon or evening to get your workout in you eat some Z Fruit with your lunch without it compromising your exercise.
At The Feed we never overlook the importance of breakfast. Most of the time we're on the go and have to grab what we can. However, the days when we find an extra few minutes in the morning, we love to heat up the griddle and make Birch Benders Pancakes. Birch Bender Pancakes are unique because they only require water, and they taste great. When you're on the go, Birch Benders are a great way to cook homemade pancakes every morning!
Feed's fave: Chocolate Chip
We've found that following the instructions on the packaging works great, provided you keep your pan at the right medium temperature. If your pan is a little on the hot side, these pancakes can stick. Oh...and we highly recommend adding butter or ghee to the pan for some extra flavor! We've also added Eden-Dried Blueberries to the mix and of course a generous pour of maple syrup!

We think this is one of the best snacks out there for athletes. This bar is essential in all workout snack packs. Bring it along with you for after your workout. This organic bar tastes great and fills you up until it is time to get that next meal.
The ProBar Bolt Chew is gluten free, dairy free and organic. Each chew is bite-sized and has a great blend of electrolytes, complex carbohydrates and B-vitamins to ensure you get the nutrition you need during exercise. The flavor is subtle and slightly tart. They also have a consistency more akin to fruit snacks. They are easy to consume on rides and give the perfect hit of energy when you need it.
It is important to remember to consume water with these chews when using them during exercise.
The Feed’s Fave: Berry Blast
We use these chews right before exercise or during medium-high intensity exercise. If we're feeling extra tired, we opt for the Berry Blast of Raspberry flavors which contain caffeine from yerba mate. Wash these bad boys down with a little water and receive that perfect hit of energy.
The first time we ate a Honey Bunchies, it was love at first taste. These bars are amazing. On the inside is a delicious caramel and honey mixture with pieces of peanuts and pecans.
