Skratch did it again. Just when you think the energy bar couldn't get any better....they go and make one. We have one word. Yum! These bars are made with real ingredients such as fruit, nuts, and quinoa. They also incorporate less sugar than most traditional energy bars. These bars are a great source to fuel your workout or even carry as an alternate anytime snack. JoJé bars are some of the tastiest bars we have at The Feed. These bars provide the nutrients needed to keep you full and energized on moderate to long workouts. They also make for a great snack between meals.
Gu Energy Gels have been a staple of fueling for endurance sports for the past 20 years. Created for daily training and competition, GU Energy Gel packs energy-dense calories in a portable packet to help sustain energy demands of any duration or activity. The 100-calorie packet contains carbohydrates (maltodextrin and fructose) that use non-competing pathways to help maximize carbohydrate absorption while diminishing stomach distress. Sodium, the primary electrolyte lost in sweat, aids in hydration by maintaining water balance. The branched-chain amino acids (leucine, valine, isoleucine) may reduce mental fatigue and decrease muscle damage. It is important to remember to always drink water when taking these gels, since water is used in the digestion process. Also, if you're using the caffeinated gels like Gu Espresso Love make sure you use them when you really need the added energy. We recommend before an intense workout, or at the end of a long workout when you need a boost the most.

One serving is three blocks, but we believe in rationing them. During your workout consume 1 block at a time every 10-15 minutes, or 2 at a time every 30 minutes. Eating less than 3 blocks at a time is a more manageable amount to stomach when you’re exercising and won’t overload your gut with sugar nor require too much fluid to digest. This was one of our first recovery mixes at The Feed....it tastes great and it works. We use Fluid Recovery after any medium-high intensity workout lasting longer than 90 minutes. If you're workout is shorter, but very intense (45-60 minutes), this product also works. For intense workouts less than 60 minutes in duration, watch those calories and consider this as a meal replacement. The truth about recovery for endurance sports is that you need the right mix of fast acting carbohydrate + protein.
