What’s in my Feed?

My Feed is a product of trial and error.  Everytime we get a new product I make sure to try it, so I know exactly what we are selling and why its good for you to consume.   I try not to eat all the inventory, so I have a few staples I make sure go in my Feed box.

The product I use most consistently has to be Clif Shot Mocha Gel.  Some gels can be really hard to take down making them unappealing to most people but the consistency and taste of the Mocha is incredible, think of eating chocolate frosting with caffeine as an added bonus.  I usually bring 2 during a long ride or run and start using them a couple hours in to give me a little boost and to help stay alert.

Honestly, who doesn’t like Rip Van Wafels?  This little 150-calorie snack is pretty low in sugar, only 8 grams, and is the perfect treat any time of the day.  I always make sure my box has a handful of these in it.  I don’t usually use them on the bike because they are so fragile but I consume these treats pre-workout and…well… whenever I want something sweet, which tends to be often.  Pro-tip: add nut butter, eat and repeat.

The Bonk Breaker Peanut Butter and Jelly stands out above the rest, and in my opinion, is one of the most delicious bars we carry,  Its like someone took a PB&J, cut off the crust (who likes the stuff anyways), smashed it into bar size and called it sports nutrition!  Don’t be fooled by the size of this bar, it packs a punch with 250 calories and 35 grams of carbs.  I eat these any time of day, breakfast, lunch or dinner and every occasion in between.  Did I mention it tastes amazing?

I’m the kind of person that really enjoys recovery nutrition after a workout, but needs it to have some substance.  Don’t get me wrong I do like recovery shakes, but if I wanted to drink my calories I’d have a beer.  If I can’t eat a meal right after a workout, I prefer to have a recovery bar, ProBar Core Cookie Dough to be exact.  Besides being vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free, it contains 21 grams of protein and 32 grams of carbs making it a great meal replacement.  The bar tastes like candy and be honest, who doesn’t crave a candy bar from time to time? core bar choc cookie dough gallery   That's my pick.
