In case you haven't noticed the days are getting shorter, early morning workouts are getting harder to wake up for, and it's still apple season. This is why we have found the best recipe EVER to take advantage of all these things.

(recipe from: from The Lemon Bowl)

The idea is simple. Prepare this breakfast in the evening, and then you can sleep a little longer in the morning without skipping breakfast.

  • ¼ c steel cut oats
  • ½ c milk – fat free
  • ⅓ c plain yogurt – low fat
  • 1 scoop of your favorite recovery mix (vanilla recommended)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 packet of Justin's Nut Butter.
  • ¼ banana – sliced
  • ½ apple – cored and diced
  1. In a glass jar, or even better, an almost-empty peanut butter jar, combine all ingredients except banana and apples.
  2. Seal the jar and pop it in the fridge overnight.
  3. In the morning top it off with banana slices and diced apple.
optional: if you want your oats to cook more, before you put it in the fridge add 1/4c milk and microwave for 90 seconds. And in the morning, if you cannot stand a cold oat, microwave it again for 30 seconds.
Why we LOVE this recipe: It's totally on the go. You can take the glass container with you when you rush out the door, and then you can recycle it later without a worry. Enjoy!
