This recipe is from Natalie M. Rivera. A graduate of the Natural Gourmet Institute of Health & Culinary Arts and marketing manager for Amrita HealthFoods.
This recipe came about as I was making desserts for my usual weekly post-dinner snack. I normally would cut up Amrita bars into bite sizes in the beginning of the week and eat a piece after dinner. It helps satisfy my sweet tooth without overindulging. But this time I wanted to replicate a dessert, so I had something exciting to look forward too after a long day at work. The Chocolate Maca Cake Pop recipe is a great way of having a healthy treat that is truly decedent and satisfies your sweet tooth. These are absolutely delectable and completely enjoyable for the entire family. Ingredients
  • 1-2 Amrita Chocolate Maca Bar
  • 1/4 cup Dark chocolate chips (I use Trader Joes 86% dark chocolate lovers bar or Lilly’s)
  • 1/2 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp raw cacao powder
  • Wooden Sticks of any kind
Directions: Roll out the Amrita Chocolate Maca Bar into a thin layer then cut into 4 pieces. Form each piece into a ball (or you can use a tablespoon to make it equal in size). Place each stick into chocolate cake pop. Either Bake at 400 for 6 minutes then have it cool or leave it unbaked but harden in Freezer for 4 minutes, your choice. Then heat:
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp raw cacao powder
Once smooth, set aside. Dip balls into warm mixture. Place in freezer for 5-10 minutes (or until set). Serve at room temp or cold. Enjoy! To for more recipes and health tips from Natalie visit:
